you have 0 rocks. Did you mean elements instead?
An element is made up of just one kind of atom. A mineral is inorganic, has a chemical formula where two or more elements are combined in a reasonably predictable ratio, and it has a regular crystal structure. A rock can be made up of one or more minerals, but if it’s just one, the minerals have gone through some process that’s changed the original form. So silicon and oxygen are elements. SiO2, or silicon dioxide is the mineral quartz. But if you erode quartz, then cement the grains back together, you get the rock sandstone.
